The cuvée (50% blue franc, 30% cabernet franc, 20% merlot) made for the 70th birthday of the eponymous Bock József, was bottled in 2018 under the name Bock 70. Its popularity has now made it a tradition: a blend of wines from the special 2017 vintage on the Fekete-Hegy was blended with a similar composition and has now become the birthday cuvée Bock 70+. The wine has spent 14 months in first and second fill barriques and is a great wine that is perfectly accommodating for those who are new to the Villány. The alcohol is not intrusive, and the acidity of the kékfrankos adds some liveliness to the overall effect. The 70+ is a kind of entry into the world of great wines, but its balance and elegant, restrained tobacco and chocolate notes pave the way for wine enthusiasts to Villány's finest batches.
