BAILEYS
Baileys is a unique blend of traditional Irish whiskey and fresh cream, creating the drink that established the cream liqueur category. It is the most popular Irish cream liqueur worldwide, having won more medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition than any of its competitors. The answer is easy to find while traveling through the country. The lush emerald-green landscape, the 40,000 cows that spend most of the year—nine months—outdoors on the most flavorful and nutritious grass pastures, and the top-quality, triple-distilled Irish whiskey. Baileys uses only milk from specially selected Irish farms, sourced from over 1,000 contracted farms. Most of these farming families have been in the dairy business since the 1800s. The milk is processed for Baileys within 36 hours of milking.
The world’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery, which is still in operation, received its license in 1608 in Ireland. It is no coincidence that this long history of distilling and dairy farming led R&A Baileys to create the blend of Irish whiskey and cream in 1974, without adding any artificial preservatives. The alcohol preserves the cream so perfectly that Baileys tastes as fresh after two years of storage as it did on the day it was bottled.
First, the cream is mixed with the finest Irish whiskey, then blended with chocolate (a unique combination of cocoa beans and vanilla), caramel, and sugar to create the unmistakably original Baileys flavor. To this day, every bottle is made in Ireland.
