The Fütyülős brand has a nearly century-old history that intertwines with Hungary's pálinka tradition, the famous peaches of the Puszta region, and the long-standing heritage of Kecskemét. The Fütyülős brand was registered in 1935 by the predecessor of today's Zwack Unicum Nyrt. Over time, the brand has evolved into a diverse range of flavors, catering to everyone, regardless of age or gender, allowing each person to find their personal favorite.
The predecessor of the iconic Fütyülős bottle, the portioned bottle, was already used during the Rákóczi War of Independence. In those times, innkeepers would signal to guests that their drink had run out by simply blowing into the empty bottle. The bottle's popularity stemmed from its stability and the distinctive whistle sound it made when blown. Over the centuries, it became a tradition for visiting monarchs to be welcomed with a bottle of Fütyülős, introducing them to the flavors of traditional pálinka. Records of the iconic bottle form date back as far as the 18th century.
In 2018, the iconic bottle shape of Fütyülős received a fresh new look from a world-renowned design studio. The classic tulip motif, which has been present since the beginning, is now beautifully displayed on the neck of the new bottle. The year on the label serves as a reminder of when the brand was trademarked. The embossed honeycomb pattern on the bottle is both a decorative element and a nod to honey, one of the key ingredients that define the aromatic world of Fütyülős. The copper-colored cap is a tribute to the old distilling kettles of the past. The label combines tradition with a sleek and modern Fütyülős logo.
The Fütyülős product and brand name originally emerged from the ideas of János and Béla Zwack in the 1960s. The beloved traditional Fütyülős brand has maintained the values and traditions of the past while keeping up with modern expectations, evolving into a broader product family. Fütyülős has retained its fruity essence, but in addition to the classic apricot flavor, honey-infused varieties have been created, enriched with aromatic acacia honey for a smoother taste.
Thanks to its innovative spirit, 2013 saw the launch of bold new flavors within the Fütyülős family, such as Chocolate Hazelnut and Strawberry Rosé. The ever-evolving brand introduced one of its summer favorites, Watermelon, to the market in 2022. In 2023, Fütyülős expanded its range with the exciting Tropical Fruits flavor, bringing exotic fruits into the mix.
Manufacturing Technology: To preserve the most flavorful fruit taste during the extraction process, we combine Zwack Unicum's centuries-old expertise with modern technology. For example, we've developed our own method for dissolving honey, making it easier to dissolve and ensuring it stays dissolved more safely. The creation of the drink is carried out by our experienced drink masters in our European-standard production facility. Then comes the resting phase, during which harmony is developed between the elements of the drink, and the components round off and blend together. Afterward, we filter it and proceed to quality control. Only those drinks that meet not only the legal requirements but also our stricter internal standards are bottled
